Product Specialist, Singapore

We are looking for a Product Specialist to grow Dymax's market share by managing the development and commercialization of products developed based on market needs. They will work with the Business Development Team to bring together all elements of a fully integrated program utilizing the existing product line and products in development. They will also interface with numerous functions including; Customers, R&D, EH&S, Application engineer, Operations, the Marketing Communications Team, Field Sales, Channel Partners, and outside Market Influencers.


About the job:

  •  Product line business planning; New product development oversight including; Business case development; Product life cycle management; Product promotion; Competitive Analysis.
  • Develop and execute the strategic plan for product line along with the Business Development Manager, including, but not limited to capturing product needs, developing forecast for product lines in alignment with commercial organization for annual budgeting and operating plan, supporting commercial organization in achieving revenue. Participate with Sales, Key Global, Regional, and/or Target Account teams where applicable. Identifies and develops new market opportunities and understanding of the same.
  • Develop the business case, in conjunction with Business Development Management, used to support new product development.  Provide oversight on new products being developed, and coordinate with the commercial organization to ensure customer partner is engaged throughout the NPD process.  Ensure supply chain and manufacturing are positioned to scale new products as development is completed.  Own commercialization plan used to drive new product launch activities including launch packages and regional technical training when applicable. Work with Business Development on the creation of Technology Roadmaps and alignment with Strategic Plan.
  • Ensure the proactive management of the product life cycle.  Define standards for both existing and new products under development, including constructions, pricing, optimize costing (i.e. multiple source qualification), and align with manufacturing to ensure BCP (business continuity) is maintained.
  • Collaborate with necessary commercial facets to develop training materials, pricing strategy, value proposition presentations, and trade show/publications.
  • Responsible for monitoring competitor activity for managed product lines/segments and benchmarking.

 

The ideal candidate: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing/Material science or related field of study.
  • 4 years of relevant experience in industrial product management.  
  • Specialty chemical sales or marketing experience is preferred
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Requires strong organizational/time management skills and close attention to detail. Must have the ability to handle multiple priorities, work well under pressure, and meet deadlines.
  • Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize, organize, and accomplish a diversified workload
